I highly recommend that you try to incorporate textures into some of your photographs.  They are a refreshing change from "smooth" painted backgrounds.  Make sure the textures are not distracting from the focus of the image, which is, of course, the subject's face.  Here, the majority of the light is striking the subject's face, so that the white of the hammock does not get too bright, and compete with the face.
